Reinforced Iron Plates Super-Efficient Build Layout

This guide will show you how to build a clean and compact reinforced iron plate factory in Satisfactory.

The intention behind this layout is to allow you to easily produce 10 reinforced iron plates per minute running a clean and relatively compact factory. Screenshots will go along throughout the process and for further help, I've attached a timelapse video guide below.

For this factory we will require the following:

For this factory, we will be using an 8x7 grid and we will make use of the manifold system. If you're questioning the efficiency of a manifold then I recommend checking out my video comparing load balancers to manifolds.

 

Part 1 – Factory Input

 

This factory will require a total of 120 iron ore per minute. This translates to a full Mk2 conveyor, which can be achieved with a single Mk1 miner on a pure iron node, or two Mk1 miners on normal nodes.

 

Part 2 – Smelters

 

We shall need to place four smelters in total for this build. First place a splitter flowing to the right in the centre of column one. We shall then place two more splitters in the centre between the fourth and fifth, and the fifth and sixth column.

Next, place a smelter in-front of the three splitters and then place the fourth smelter in line with the others. This smelter should span the sixth and seventh column. These should all be set to smelting iron ingots at 100% clock-speed.

 

 

Part 3 – Screw Constructors

 

For this build, we will need a total of eight constructors. First, we shall place the five constructors that create the screws. place a splitter in-front of the first smelter. Then directly in front of the splitter in column one place a constructor, then place a constructor to the right of our first constructor. You can connect the smelter, splitter, and constructors up using the Mk1 belts. These constructors should be manufacturing iron rods.

In-front of the second constructor, place a merger flowing to the right of the grid, then immediately to the left and right of this merger, place splitters flowing to the right. You will now place three constructors each one in front of the splitters and the third constructor to the right of the second constructor. These should all be set to screws. Now connect these together with Mk1 belts.
Also place mergers flowing to the right, in front of the second and third constructors. All constructors will merge using mk1 belts, however, you will need a Mk2 belt between the mergers and also following on to the assemblers, which we shall cover shortly.

 

 

Part 3 – Plate Constructors

 

We shall now place the last three constructors in-front of the three free smelters, I’ve made sure my constructors are running parallel to the rod constructors but this is not necessary. These three constructors will produce iron plates. We shall now load balance the iron plates so that we have a 30/30 split of iron plates for the assemblers.

Place a splitter in-front of the second constructor, and a merger directly to the left of it and make sure it's flowing forwards as well as a second merger flowing forwards, directly in front of the third constructor. Connect the first constructor to the left merger, the second constructor should connect to the splitter in-front, and the third constructor should connect to the second merger. Then connect two of the splitter outputs to the two mergers.

 

 

Part 4 – Assemblers (Reinforced Iron Plates)

 

Next, we need to place two assemblers, the first assembler should be placed so that the left-hand input is in-line with the left-hand merger of the iron plates constructor section. When placing make sure that you place the assembler no less than two spaces in-front of the merger, as we will need the space for the screws to enter from above. The second assembler should be placed parallel to the first, again with the left input directly in-front of the right-hand merger.

We shall now place a manifold line using splitters for the screws, note you will need to use MK2 belts here. First place a splitter flowing to the right directly above the splitter along the iron plate line, you will then need to place a splitter directly next to the merger at the end of the line, and then stack a second splitter flowing to the right above. You can then delete this splitter that was placed below.

Now connect the splitters together using a Mk1 conveyor, as well as the splitter outputs to the second inputs on the assemblers. Note that you will now need to connect the manifold line using Mk2 conveyors with the merger output from the screws line.

The assemblers should now be set to reinforced iron plates. You can now merge the assembler outputs and run them to another factory or a storage unit.
